Civilizations have been cooking with peppers for Centuries Many Indigenous tribe been using it in there cooking for many reason one is for flavor and two for health benefits. The Caspian is the chemical in the pants that delivers the heat and/or spice. This is what makes it hot and the outer shell is what gives it flavor. Chemist have developed a scale to measure how hot the peppers is called the scoville scale/unit. I am not exactly sure what the Scientific terms behind it . But 500-2 million scoville is pretty hot. I will list a digram of peppers and what there scoville units are. Each country has it owns peppers that they grow and consume for generations. Peppers add a lot of flavor to a dish , A dish can be simple with decent seasoning and when you add spicy peppers like thais chilies or Habanero it adds a another plateau of Flavor.
The Health benefits of consuming peppers it has alot of Antioxidants , which is good for you, the caspaican kills off alot of bacteria. Too much spice is also not good for you, but it sure is addicting once body enjoys the heat it cause it to want more , so be careful consuming too much spice.
